Yesterday morning morning we had the sheer pleasure of a visit to Fighting Words—a non-profit founded by Irish author and playwright Roddy Doyle to provide free after school and summer creative writing programs for elementary and high school students. It’s founded off the U.S.-based 186 Valencia model started by the American writer, Dave Eggers.
We were treated to a short story writing workshop by the staff and volunteers Fighting Words. Let’s just say there were some much coveted Ed Sheeran tickets involved, as well as cargo-pant wearing character named Cameron. And, we heard a little bit more about their work on Dublin’s northside.
Here are a few shots from our morning.
